The refrigeration and air conditioning technology specialist BITZER, does its part to decarbonize the heating sector by expanding the application limits of its CSH semi-hermetic screw compressors, which will thus be able to demonstrate their energy efficiency and high reliability also in industrial heat pump applications.
Using electricity from renewable sources, electrically powered heat pumps now offer 100% emission-free operation: Thanks to the extended application limits, BITZER CSH screw compressors can do all this in the wide range of heating capacities process and district heating. They allow OEMs to design superior industrial heat pumps with a water outlet temperature of up to 85°C. The capacity range of approved CSH screw compressors extends from approximately 250 kW to approximately 1,000 kW of heating capacity at 35°C evaporation and 80°C condensing temperature with economizer with R1234ze (E) refrigerant.
With its extended application limits, the CSH series can now be used with R134a, R513A and R1234yf refrigerants, at an evaporating temperature up to 30°C and a condensing temperature up to 80°C. With R1234ze (E) and R515B it can also reach an evaporation temperature of up to 40°C and a condensation temperature of up to 93°C.
In recent years, BITZER has expanded the application limits on the basis of laboratory measurements and a series of tests with selected partner companies. The qualified selection of BITZER CSH screw compressors provides heat pump manufacturers with the necessary technology to develop and produce large-scale, high-performance commercial and industrial applications. The new application limits are currently integrated into the BITZER software.
