Carrier Commercial Refrigeration's PowerCO2OL™ system for high-capacity refrigeration won the Innovation of the Golden Year award at the ATMO Natural Refrigerants Virtual Trade Show (VTS). Carrier Commercial Refrigeration is part of Carrier Global Corporation, the world's leading provider of healthy, safe and sustainable building and cold chain solutions.

VTS attendees voted for the winning products. Five natural refrigeration systems were finalists for the 2021 Innovation Award of the year which recognizes products that are expected to have a significant impact on industry and the environment.

Highly flexible and efficient, the PowerCO2OL platform is suitable for a variety of applications such as medium to large warehouses, distribution centers, food processing sites, sports facilities and more. It can be designed individually or in double temperature solution and has high energy efficiency thanks to its integrated and patented CO2OLtec® Evo modulating ejector technology. PowerCO2OL achieves a cooling capacity of up to 1.5 megawatts per rack.

Carrier has designed installations of up to five megawatts by combining five racks with full heat recovery capability, ideal for domestic hot water. PowerCO2OL has been installed in major European distribution centers and iconic sites such as SNØ, Norway's first indoor ski stadium, where winter sports enthusiasts can ski all year round.

The PowerCO2OL system is part of Carrier's healthy, safe and sustainable Cold Chain program, which provides fresh food and medicines to people around the world and ensures the safe storage and transport of vaccines through advanced connectivity and visibility.
