Trane RTXC: The New Air-to-Water Heat Pump with Screw Compressor Technology

Trane®, a leading global provider of indoor air conditioning solutions and services and a brand of Trane Technologies, introduced RTXC, its first European air-to-water heat pump with proprietary screw compressor technology. With industry-leading efficiency levels, renowned screw compressor reliability and a wide operating range, the RTXC meets high performance air conditioning and heating requirements across Europe.

Trane screw compressor technology allows the RTXC heat pump to continuously control its capacity, which significantly improves the stability of the water temperature. Performance is handled by the Trane Tracer™ UC800 adaptive control device, which can keep the unit running despite extreme conditions and events, when other units would simply shut down.

Offices, hospitals, hotels and other buildings that require an energy efficient air conditioning and heating system can now benefit from the industry-leading efficiency of Trane RTXC. With up to 20% higher efficiency than competitive units and a coefficient of performance (COP) of 3.5, Trane RTXC offers lower operating costs and reduces building energy consumption. The industry-leading operating range and the ability to deliver heating to 55°C with an ambient temperature down to -10°C make the RTXC an ideal solution for residential space heating applications across Europe.

Trane thus increases, for the benefit of its customers, the number of options and technologies that allow them to increase the efficiency of their buildings. Air-to-water heat pumps transfer energy from the ambient air to the building, delivering renewable energy and helping to greatly reduce the energy consumption of buildings. With the launch of the RTXC air-to-water heat pump based on Trane's renowned screw compressor, the company is taking another step in this direction.

The RTXC air-to-water heat pump will be available with R134a and R513A.
