Daikin has recently started construction of the new factory in Poland. This new plant will start producing heat pumps in July 2024 and the total investment will be 300 million euros.

The new plant will create 1,000 jobs by 2025 and 3,000 by 2030. It will serve to augment existing production in Germany, Belgium and the Czech Republic, with production capacity quadrupled by 2025, compared to fiscal year 2021. It will also help the company establish a production system with a stable supply of products for the ever-growing heat pump market.

The European heat pump market has grown at an average annual rate of 10% over the last decade, selling 1 million units in 2021. The European Green Deal policy, which aims to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions in the region of the EU by 2050, has further accelerated the deployment of heat pumps. The market expansion is expected to reach annual sales of at least 3.5 million units by 2025.

Daikin started selling heat pumps powered by electricity as early as 2006 in Europe. Since then, it has expanded its range of heat pump products to meet the needs of customers in each country and increased production capacity by increasing capital investment and employment in existing plants in response to growing demand.

Daikin has positioned Europe as the most important region for the expansion of the heat pump business in its FUSION 25 strategic management plan.
